Incompetent at Everything

In every language under the sun, including in English from the good old New York Times:

Mr. Nastase, who will turn 62 on Friday, had denied any wrongdoing and insisted that the case was politically motivated.

He had appealed his March 30 sentence after he was convicted of illegally raising $2 million for his failed presidential campaign in 2004 by drawing from the profits of an event organized by a state agency. Mr. Nastase was prime minister in a leftist government from 2000 to 2004 and before that was foreign minister.

He had been expected to begin serving his sentence within hours, but after the police arrived at his home to arrest him, Mr. Nastase shot himself in the neck.

You’ll be happy to know Prime Minister Victor Ponta is of course blaming President Traian Basescu for this and (literally) said, “I hope you’re happy now!”

Welcome to Romania, where it’s 7th grade all over again.

UPDATE: Apparently some mental midgets think that because I loathe and detest the PSD mafia (Nastase, Iliescu, Ponta) this somehow equates that I am somehow a fanboy of the PDL. Please do me a favor and read my posts (or watch The Romania Show if you can’t read) on Radu Moisin, Sorin Apostu, Elena Udrea and Traian Basescu before you open your mouth, eh?

Here’s a really simple way to understand my opinion – I HATE ALL COWARDS, THIEVES AND FOOLS IRRESPECTIVE OF PARTY, RACE, RELIGION OR NATIONAL ORIGIN. Got it?

Well as it turns out one of the biggest fish in post-communist Romania is a little piece of cowardly shit and while the idea of him dead had its appeal, I very much prefer to see him behind bars.

In the mean time, I’m glad to see that the new Prime Minister doesn’t hesitate to show off how much of a Prime Moron he is. That’s a very fresh approach after the last guy who tried so hard to convince everybody what a special brand of genius he is.

My favourite thing about the New York Times article is the beginning: “Nicosia, Cyprus:” Haha what? Is that where the reporter was when he wrote it?
