Here’s a very interesting story:
A 25-year-old woman who left discreetly for Romania last month, with her 61-year-old mother, was supposedly going to meet a man she had met online. She and her mother, Madam Foo Li Kheng, have been missing for 10 days, and their family’s attempts to contact them have been futile. Her father, who wanted to be known only as Mr Yap, told the Chinese newspaper he was worried that they had fallen victim to a scam.
Read the article for the rest of the story but there are some key details that make this less of a “two women possibly in trouble” and more “two women intentionally left their old life behind”, which includes some kind of issue with the dad/husband as they never bothered to even say goodbye to him LOL.
Whatever the case, I hope the women are all right. I just like this story because it hints that people in Singapore, a country that Romanians love for its wealth, cleanliness and order, are fleeing to Romania to find a better life and happiness.
Irony…
Well, at least they didn’t “escape” to Syria to join ISIS! Sounds like might be ok, in spite of finding themselves in such a savage country ;-P : http://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/singapore-mum-and-daughter-safe-says-womans-facebook-friend
