Well last year on May 1 I was at the beach, soaking up the sun and having a wonderful time experiencing the craziness that is Vama Veche. This year, however, it was cold and rainy and so I stayed home over the long weekend, spending an inordinate amount of time working on a short movie.
The rollercoaster adventure that is my life never ends and so strangely enough the truth is that I made the following film at the request of my lawyer.
It’s still an open case so I can’t talk much about it except to say that no, I haven’t done anything wrong and I haven’t hurt any one. But of course the law is the law (as a particularly obnoxious government official told me last week) and once you’re caught up in the system you’ve just got to thrash about until you get processed through.
If you’ve been around a long time, you’ve seen most of the original footage from interviews and shows that constitute this short movie but they’ve never been assembled this way before. It is, in essence, a short autobiography of my life in Romania (direct link to the video in case you’re on a mobile device).
It is entirely in Romanian so if you don’t speak the language, I’m afraid it won’t make much sense to you.
Enjoy!
Much thanks to all of the networks, channels and people who were interested in hearing and reading and filming my story over the years, which made this video autobiography possible. Of course, it only represents a tiny fraction of my life but everything you’ve just seen is completely true.
If you built a time machine and traveled back to tell my childhood self that one day I could make an entire film in a foreign language about my life in a foreign country on another continent, I would’ve thought you were crazy. And yet here I am now, and this is my life.
Just goes to show you that you can never guess what adventures lie in the future for us :)
