A couple days ago, I had the pleasure of meeting a couple of “fans” who had read the book and wanted to meet with me. As it was a gorgeous day, we decided to sit outside at a “terasa” or sidewalk cafe to enjoy a drink and a chat. As it turned out, they both wanted some ice cream but when we sat down at the “terasa” we saw that each and every table was plastered with the sticker you see above, clearly forbidding anyone from sitting at their tables and eating ice cream. About 20 steps away was an ice cream vendor doing quite brisk business so I guess the cafe owners got tired of people slopping ice cream over their tables and so ordered those custom stickers. Just made me laugh thinking about exactly how many ice creams must’ve been dripped on their furniture before the owner decided to pay good money for 100 stickers to put all over their otherwise quite nice tables :P
