I wish I could take credit for assembling the following but it is from an excellent Romanian grammar textbook I found online (PDF).
pac! | a hit, a shot |
poc! | a hit, a strike |
buf! | the fall of (esp) a large and heavy object |
bum! | an explosion, a loud boom |
trosc! | wood breaking, a slap |
pleosc! | a splash, the sound of something falling in water, a slap |
pic! | the sound of water (or other fluid) dripping |
fâss | the sound of a gas escaping/hissing |
bâldâbâc! | the sound of something going underwater |
vâj | the sound of wind blowing/rustling |
.
Personally I think my favorite amongst those is the “blurp-blurp” sound of something going underwater. So cute how it sounds in Romanian :D
AND NOW YOU KNOW!
hey, how about “fleosc!” :)

I have that same book open on my computer right now! Except mine’s is the other version on the site, with the title page and about 10 more pages.

My favourite interjection since I began with Romanian is pur și simplu “of!”.
Otherwise known as “onomatopoeias” (yes, I had to look up the spelling of that -_- ).
