Still Alive!

Oh my goodness, June 6 was my last post? Seems like time has been flying by! (timpul zboara, exactly the same in Romanian).

I’ve been busy with a number of projects, the first one being a painful “trial separation” from my regular work and the second one being opening my very own business here in Romania. The latter looks like it will have to remain “under wraps” at least for a little while longer but suffice it to say, it’s been a fun and interesting experience.

I won’t say much more on the topic than this: a very good and respected friend of mine told me last week that it is literally impossible to open and operate a legal, fully-compliant (with regulations, etc) business, i.e. not to cheat on taxes, bribe certain people, skirt rules and all the rest. Therefore my business project isn’t just an attempt to take some accumulated capital (saved money) and use it to make more money – it’s also turning into something of a moral and sociological experiment.

Anyway, more on that when the time is right.

I just wanted to say hey I’m more or less “back” to the blog and thanks for all the kind comments here “recently”. I had all comments hidden in a queue awaiting moderator approval and so they were hidden until now.

More soon and hope your summer is holding up!

Peace

Oh yeah, good news. I finally figured out how to remove the emoticons from my posts. In other words if I type :) it remains a colon and a parenthesis rather than turn into a cartoon yellow smiley face. Looks a little less IM chatlog this way and a little bit more like “serious” writing – not to mention the faces messed with the alignment and formatting.

Got something to say? Try to be nice!
