My personal Facebook page is here.

If you want to add me as a friend on FB, feel free to do so! I always auto-accept anyone with a Romanian name, so if you love Romania but your family name doesn’t end in -escu or -eanu, just send me a quick comment with the friend add request so I know you’re not a spam bot.

If you want to “like” this website’s Facebook page, click here.

Note: I log onto Facebook about once a week (or even more rarely), so if you want any kind of timely response, please use email!

Email

The easiest way to reach me is via email at samcelroman@gmail.com.

I respond to all emails within about 24 hours (maybe more on the weekend), so if you really want to reach me, EMAIL IS BEST.

Twitter

My Twitter ID is: lifeinromania

I love Twitter, and I probably always will. I’m happy to have followers on Twitter, but please keep in mind that I rarely respond to RTs, DMs, and messages. It isn’t about you – I’d just get nothing else done in a day if I turned on notifications.

If you’re interested in my latest thoughts or “hot takes” on the news, however, you can either follow me on Twitter, read the feed at the bottom of each page (here on the blog), or use the link to read my stuff directly on the web.

Tumblr

Yes, I have a Tumblr page, but I barely know how to access it or respond to messages. If you’re trying to reach me on Tumblr, be prepared to wait a year or two!

Instagram

My personal Instagram account is here.

Instagram can be fun, and I’d be happy to have you “follow” me there, but please don’t expect a response to messages. My tablet is incredibly old and slow, and it makes everything very painful. I can barely get it to post photos much less respond to comments and messages and all the rest.

Google Plus

Yes, I have a Google+ page, but I don’t know how to access or use it. Sorry!

  3. Partidul, Ceausesc, Romania was never an Anthem of Romania… you’re making huge mistakes in that article… You almost make me believe that you have some bad intentions…
Where the heck did you drive that you didn’t had radio signal? There are few radio programs that work even on Fagaras Mountains.

  4. Hello Sam, your site is great, but I have an observation to make. Your description says: “You might be born in Romania, carry a Romanian passport and know ALL the words to Partidul, Ceausescu, Romania… but guess what?”

You might want to replace “Partidul, Ceausescu, Romania” with “Desteapta-te romane”. As it is right now it suggests communism is part of the Romanian identity, which is false and offensive. I’m sure that’s not what you intended.

Otherwise your initiative is simply wonderful and I greatly admire your attitude. I wish more of my fellow countrymen followed your example. Bravo! I’ll be looking for your book.

    1. Romania was communist at one point, which is the point.

Even so, the actual Romanian communist anthem was Trei Culori.

      1. The correct term is actually “socialist republic”. Romania was under a communist regime (read “dictatorship”). Do you know what a dictatorship is? It’s not something a country identifies with. Your remark that “Romania was communist at one point” is like saying “Poland was Nazi at some point”.

  5. Sam, buna ziua!

    Suzana H.

  6. Regarding your articles about stray dogs. I’m from Brasov and I really love what the administration is doing here because we almost have no stray dogs in this city! This is the only solution that works… if the westerners love so much the dogs, then they should take’em in their countries because we don’t want them here!

  7. Sam, I think you should set the maximum reply level of your comments to something lower, like 3 or even 2 maybe.

Threaded comments are OK, but it’s really painful to read the 4th or 5th level of replies, they get a way too small width.
