I have several friends from Romania living here in the USA. Some of them are naturalized and some working with green cards. Everyone of them have made similar observations mentioned in the post.
Wages tend to be proportional to the market in which we live and work (assuming a free market is allowed to work). We live in the Boston are in which wages are much higher than in some places like Gila Bend Arizona. What else is true is the cost of living typically aligns with the pay levels. A home in Gila Bend (63,800) will cost a lot less than a home in Boston (388,700).
Pay isn’t everything when it comes to life (sure having money helps). So there must be other things which makes the West so attractive to Romanians.
