Well it’s a new year and time to do some general cleaning and pruning here on the old blog. By that I mean it’s time to revamp my blogroll, (the list of other blogs I link to), in this case ones written in the Romanian language.
Do you know a good blog (in Romanian)? Are you yourself the author of a good blog? If so, tell me about it and I’ll check it out and potentially add a link to it here. Normally I don’t allow comments but for this post I’ve opened it up so you can tell me about some good places.
For sure Groparu will be in, because he’s a decent guy with a family and he bought me beer. Hey, that goes a long way with me. Secondly I will include Chinezu because he seems like a decent guy. But whom else should we all be reading? Frankly I have no idea because I spend about 90% of my day creating content rather than absorbing it from other sources and it’s been a long time since I read any blogs in Romanian.
For sure what I am not interested in is anyone who writes like Zoso, sneering, negative, cynical jabs at current events and famous people and then doing nothing whatsoever but what we call in English “snark”. Someone who puts a little time and effort into their writing gets my respect. I have no interest in two-second posts about jokes or sarcastic quips about what’s going on in the news. Nor frankly do I give a shit about “hilarious” pictures or ragging on “pitzipoance” or “manelisti” (etc, etc, etc) and all of that vicious Romanian-vs-Romanian stuff.
If possible, I’d also prefer either a) a website where the Romanian has all the right diacritics but not some crazy font that makes the writing look crooked or b) just skip the diacritics altogether. Even my own blog looks like shit when I use the proper Romanian letters, which is partly why I usually don’t use them.
Ok, have at it! What blogs in Romanian should I include on my blog roll?

I understand that sarcasm is bad for you. In this case, definitely not include https://neurococi.ro :)

Hi, I’d like to recommend him: http://bucurenci.ro/, an eco activist and journalist you might have heard about. Some people like him, some don’t. i like his writing because he loves to emphasize the good things that happen around here and rather treat condescendingly the bad realities of the Romanian space. (You know, as in “if you don’t have anything nice to say… “) He’s also got a blog in English (http://bucurenci.com/)
And of course http://www.cosminalexandru.ro/ Chairman of the Erudio association. preoccupied as well with providing his blog readers with new perspectives on thorny situations, and a big fan of the idea that “the change starts with you”.
Have fun reading !

Hi! I don’t normally do this, so it took me a while to convince myself to write this comment, but I find your post really funny, so here it is: I have a blog with all sorts of practical ideas for families (crafts, recipes, activities, education, book reviews etc), a Martha-Stewart-sort-of-thing, but without the fame, the money and the jail time :-D This is it: http://laurafrunza.com
My sister also writes well in Romanian, she has funny articles about life in general and she’s really talented at being (self)ironic and has a good eye for observing society modes&morals. Her link is: http//mihaelaalexandrescu.com

I’m a travel writer for a couple of years. Mostly visiting the Balkans and from time to time I escape towards central Europe. But my desire is to uncover the Balkan Peninsula. I already started with learning the languages, now i have to do the visiting part.
