A court in Britain heard disgusting details of a Romanian-run prostitution ring in a squalid neighborhood in Ribbleton:
Websites were set up to market the young women as prostitutes and they were forced to work long hours with little sleep, handing over all their earnings to the men.
Each day the women were allowed a short trip to a local shop. If they wanted fresh air they were only allowed onto the back yard, the court heard.
When one of the women tried to run out of the house, Petre brought her back and pushed her to the floor and struck her with a mobile phone charger, as he grabbed her around her throat. The other woman was struck “again and again” by Matei, who threatened to take her to a field and kill her.
No word on what kind of depraved local men wanted to have sex with abused, exhausted women in the ugly back street pictured in the photo at the top of this post.
In separate, but related news, a young Romanian woman was deported from Britain after being convicted of “operating” a similar prostitution ring:
The woman was found to have links to three other brothels, two in Cambridge and one in Leicester.
Following a joint investigation with Cambridge Police, Mirea was charged with four offences of keeping, managing, acting or assisting in the management of a brothel.
Not quite sure how a 24-year-old woman came to be “operating” a complex prostitution ring, but there sure does seem to be a disturbing amount of customer “demand” in England for abused women from Romania.
