Romania and Romanians on American TV

Well gosh, you know since “forever” almost I’ve been wanting to do this but I never had the computer which could handle it. I have however been writing about it for quite a while now (along with a few short clips that took days to create). Now I finally can put it all together for all of you to see.

24 hours a day, 7 days a week you can always find an American movie or show on TV in Romania so it is no mystery about where Romanians get their ideas about the United States. But what about the reverse of that? Where do Americans get their ideas about Romania? Well it’s time to start answering that question.

I have downloaded probably 30 different American television shows precisely to show you the answer. Below you can see part 1 of this series but you will see a lot more in the sidebar of this blog (the right-hand part of your screen). I had to choke my way through butchered mispronunciations, stupid sitcoms, fake Romanian being spoken and Americans inventing all sorts of accents just to bring you the relevant clips. I’m not even going to admit how many of these episodes I saw back when they were first broadcast because I’m definitely not proud of it but I sure hope you find the final result informative.

Okay if you want to watch this video on Trilulilu, click here and enjoy :)

Because loading YouTube clips sometimes screws up older computers, I won’t keep posting new videos in this series here on the main part of the blog. New videos will be linked to on the sidebar so that you can watch them at any time you like.

ENJOY!

  1. I can not see the clip because it was blocked by N.B.C UNIVERSAL due to copyright violations. Is it only in my computer or all of you?please let me know.thanks avi69

  2. I see NBC bla bla too. That was fast….Anyway if it the video contains only clips of various shows then it should be legal under the terms of fair use to use them.
